About Sonica

Sonica warmly welcomes your curiosity, creativity, and quirks into the therapeutic space. Sonica’s work draws from Gestalt’s paradoxical theory of change, which says that transformation comes from fully embracing ourselves as we are. To this end, most of our work will focus on the practice of embracing what’s there.

Sonica sees individuals, couples, families, and nontraditional family groups with a variety of backgrounds and issues. In particular, she focuses on corporate workplace wellness, life and career transitions, adult and adolescent ADHD, relationship and sexual wellness, and childhood trauma.

Sonica’s first career in technology and the corporate world informs her career counseling work in peak performance, work-life balance, and changing careers. She also encourages playful experimentation between therapy sessions for those clients who prefer a more active role in their inner journey.

Sonica is a National Certified Counselor. She holds a Master of Arts in Counseling from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Cornell University. Sonica is also a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach and blends coaching with therapy to balance forwarding change with deepening stillness.
