Video Gamer Group
Video Gamer Group
General information
Gaming culture and those within the gaming community face unique challenges that can be commonly misunderstood by those outside the gaming community. In recent years, mental health in the gaming community has begun rising to the surface, however, proper mental health support can still be difficult for a gamer to find. Societal stigma and misconceptions about gaming can prevent gamers from seeking mental health support, in fear of being judged or misunderstood. The Video Gamer Group creates a safe space for gamers to feel understood, process their experience as a gamer, and the impact on their mental health. Members are invited to explore their identity as a gamer, and to make meaning of their experiences
