About Katherine

Katherine is a doctorally prepared, board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She brings with her to Skylight comprehensive experience in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, with additional expertise in Autism, ADHD and other neurodevelopmental disorders. She provides both medication management and supportive therapy for her patients, and believes in the power of compassionate, interdisciplinary care and partnering with individuals to help them achieve their goals through treatment.

 

Katherine comes to us from Rush University Medical Center, where she has worked as a researcher and advanced practice nurse specializing in children, adolescents and young adults with psychiatric, neurodevelopmental and rare neurologic disorders. She remains on faculty at Rush University as an Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing, teaching and advising doctoral level students in the Psychiatry and Mental Health Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. Katherine has previously held several other clinical and leadership roles in research at other academic medical centers across the country, including Northwestern University, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

 

Katherine graduated from Indiana University - Bloomington with a bachelors in Psychology, completed graduate level nursing education at the University of Cincinnati, then went on to complete her doctoral degree in Nursing from Rush University. She completed her advanced practice clinical training at Rush University Medical Center, Rush Neurobehavioral Center in Skokie and The University of Chicago.
