About Roger
Roger is unabashedly curious about people and what makes us tick. He is authentically himself
with clients: warm, thoughtful, caring, and fully accepting of all, with an infectious sense of
humor. He uses narrative, relational, depth-based and trauma-informed approaches to connect deeply and empathically with his clients.
Roger migrated to the counseling profession later in life, following an extensive career in
television, film, and media communications. He remains an active writer and contributor to
Psychology Today and Medium. Roger’s two careers are connected by the concept of “story.”
He helps people cultivate, correlate, connect with, reframe, and assume authorship of their
stories so they can live fully.
While Roger works effectively with all genders, he’s developed a knack for counseling and
mentoring men using a more mindful and nuanced approach to masculinity. He welcomes
members of the LGBTQ community and enjoys working with high-performing individuals in
business, education, sports, and the arts.
Like everyone, Roger has his own story, which is precisely what inspired him to become a
therapist later in life. His life has been chocked full of challenges, missteps, and triumphs, all of
which, he says, have fused to make him who and what he is today.
Roger holds a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Northeastern Illinois
University and is a Certified Trauma Professional.
