About Cary

Cary brings compassion, patience, and relentless curiosity into the therapy room.
Cary is completing his Couples and Family Therapy Practicum, and is passionate about working with adults, couples, teenagers, children, and families. He is dedicated to exploring the power dynamics, values, and beliefs that shape his client’s rich lives. Our collaborative work will explore the many ways our systems, both cultural and familial, shape our inner and outer selves. Cary worked as a teacher and Special Education Case Manager for almost a decade in Chicago, working with families to best support their children. He is specifically attuned to children or teenagers struggling with behavioral issues, executive functioning disorders, and individuals of all ages who may be struggling with motivation to change. He is excited and grateful for the opportunity to do individual work, but he believes that focusing on the familysystem, past or present, is key to helping members recognize how we shape each other’sbehavior through power dynamics, communication styles, and ability to access our emotions.

Cary believes that great work can only happen through trust, clarity of purpose, and self-
awareness for both he and his clients. He firmly believes that he will never stop learning and
hopes to work with clients with the same passion for curiosity.

Cary is working on his Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Adler School of Psychology in Chicago. He has a Masters degree in Secondary Education with a certificate in Special Education, and a BA in Music from Skidmore College. Cary is in the second year of his current program where he is being trained to work with individuals and couples using asystemic, multi-cultural approach to therapy.
