About Ana
My goal in psychotherapy is to explore with clients the ways in which they have learnedto interact with the world and themselves. I think that developing a deeper understanding of who we are and how we came to be gives us greater freedom of choice and allows us to build a life we are more proud of. Much of my work is with people struggling with shame, self-esteem, sexuality, relationship challenges, existentialconcerns, anxiety, and depression.
I’m especially interested in the nuances of life: the gray and uncomfortable parts of ourstruggles, the places where we are most tempted to lie to ourselves and navigating thecontradictions that coexist within us and in our relationships.
I like exploring the role and purpose of therapy, its limitations, and the ethical dilemmasit can present. I believe the answers to these questions vary with each client, and thattalking about them openly can deepen and strengthen the therapeutic process. I approach sessions with curiosity, authenticity and transparency, as I believe that genuine connection is one of the most important factors in the effectiveness of therapy.
I graduated with an MA in Counseling Psychology from The Family Institute atNorthwestern University.
