About John
John Ardizzone comes to Skylight Counseling Center offering a rich and extensive professional experience. He brings psychological and neuropsychological assessment skills for problems in attention (ADHD), memory and executive functioning, as well as for examining mood, anxiety and personal and interpersonal styles. In addition, he offers adolescent, adult and family counseling with an uncomplicated, personal style of interacting. His therapy focuses on clarifying and helping clients find solutions to their concerns.
He comes to us from the Family Institute at Northwestern University where he remains an Affiliate Therapist. He was the founder and director of their Neuropsychological Assessment program for ten years and of their training program in neuropsychological assessment for doctoral students from several Chicago universities.
John has a Master’s degree from American University, majoring in family therapy and emotionally challenged students. He has a doctoral degree in Psychology and Education from the University of Michigan. His experience includes directing an adolescent treatment center in Bethesda, MD, neuropsychological studies at Sinai Hospital in Detroit, Milwaukee University, and studies in collaborative assessment at the University of Texas at Austin. Before coming to Chicago, he had a private practice in Ann Arbor, MI.
