Tamisha Troupe, Intern

About Tamisha

Tamisha is an Intern at Skylight Counseling Center and is currently working towards her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at National Louis University. She currently holds a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Robert Morris University.

For more than 15 years she served as a licensed minister and evangelist to members of her church and different communities throughout the Chicagoland area and surrounding suburbs. Tamisha has always been a spiritual individual offering support as needed to those she comes in contact with by way of prayer, encouragement, motivation, and inspiration. As a survivor of domestic, sexual and physical abuse she refused to lose herself by living as a victim of her circumstances.

Her life experiences produced in her a jovial personality, empathetic spirit, a terrific sense of humor and a heart of compassion to help illuminate the path of individuals on their life’s journey.

Tamisha is intentional in providing a safe, non-judgmental environment, where clients have the liberty, space and confidentiality to express themselves as needed.

Tamisha believes in a Holistic/Psychodynamic approach as well as an integrative humanistic approach. She believes in blending different approaches and tailoring treatment according to the needs of the client. She welcomes clients of different cultures, age, gender, traumas, emotional/behavior issues, internal conflict as well as conflict resolution.

Her motto is: “If you find the strength to press through the darkness, eventually you’ll see the light at the end of the tunnel; I can’t promise that it will be easy, but it’ll definitely be worth it!”
